Signs your AC needs repair

Air from the vents is warm or only slightly cool
Weak airflow, or some rooms never cool down
The system turns on and off every few minutes

Quick checks before you call

Make sure the thermostat is set to Cool and below the room temperature, and replace its batteries if it has them. Check the breakers for both the indoor and outdoor units. A clogged air filter can choke airflow, so swap it if it looks gray. If you see ice, switch the system to Off and the fan to On so it can thaw. Running a frozen system can damage the compressor.
