Repair or replace?
We will not push a new system if a repair makes more sense. When we look at an older unit, these are the questions we help you weigh:
- Age and condition. How old is the equipment, and how many major repairs has it needed lately?
- Cost of the repair compared with what the system is worth and how long it is likely to last.
- Refrigerant type. Older systems that use R-22 refrigerant are expensive to recharge because R-22 is no longer produced in the U.S.
- Comfort. Rooms that never cool or heat evenly, humidity problems or a noisy system.
- Operating cost. A newer, more efficient system may lower monthly bills.
Getting the size and setup right
A system that is too large short-cycles and leaves the house clammy; one that is too small runs nonstop. We size equipment for your home rather than simply matching the old unit's label. We also make sure the indoor and outdoor parts are matched, and we look at ductwork, the thermostat and the condensate drain so the new system can perform as designed.
New homes and businesses
Building a home or fitting out a commercial space? We handle new construction and commercial installations. For rooms without ductwork, such as additions, garages or workshops, a ductless mini-split may be the better fit.
